Guest guest
Dear Members, Some of our members had checked and replied that they were seen the tamil text without downloading any font. One member mentioned that he could not see the tamil text. If it happens for anybody, just make a small change in your browser (only Internet Exploreer) Click " View -> Encodings -> User Defined " then you can see the tamil contents. As one member mentioned we used the dynamic font, also still there is a problem, as mentioned in this mail by this member, it will work in only in Internet Explorer. So, I will mention it in the Tamil Home page in English, also I request all members to use the IE to view the Tamil contents. Send your further messages about this matter to our group if any. I request all members to see the headings what I had given at : http://www.ahobilam.com/tamil/contents.htm which are the proposed future page titles of Tamil content. I request you all to send your writeups, cuttings from magazines what you wish to share with all our members and web viewers. Also do not hesitate to send your own " Kavithai " , " Katturai " or Divyadesa Prayana Yathra experiences, you can send any interesting matter. Expecting a lot from alll of you, Or just send your wishes. thanks and regards, I thank all members who had obliged for my recent request. Guest guest
Dear Moderator, Thank you very much for introducing tamil version. I am able to get the tamil fonts in the system. However, I am not able to reply in tamil as my system has no package for replying in tamil. Will it be possible for you or any of the vaideekam groups to send the package through email and get added to the system ? Anyhow, my thanks to you once again. V. Soundararajan. ********* Moderator Reply *********************** Dear Member, It is already there in our group year together. You can download the Tamil fonts which I mostly used to prepare the Tamil matters for our website and as well as for print. Download it from the following location. vaideekamtmlfonts.zip Using of this font is very simple. You do not need any special software to type in tamil using this fonts. If anybody familiar with ( Notepad, Word, Pagemaker or anyother) wordprocessing application you can select this font from those application after installing these fonts in your system fonts folder. Installing of fonts also not difficult. Just download this zip file in your system under any folder or even in your desktop adn extact it (unzip it). Some *.ttf files will be there. Just copy all those *.ttf files and paste them into your systems " windows/fonts " folder. In most computers this folder will be located as : c:\windows\fonts or c:\winnt\fonts or just you can search for the 'fonts' folder by using your computers search option. After copying those fonts (*.ttf) in to the fonts folder, just restart your computer (normally not required to restart) then open msword and select the fonts (it will appear in Tamil itself in msword) or check for " Sun Tommy " , " Sun Rajan " , " Sun Ezhil " select any one then start typing. I request all members to practise Tamil typing slowly. Nothing is impossible, if a small child started climbing the " Thirupathi Malai " after some hours the " Thirupathi Malai " will be under the feet of that small child. Or, you can just type the Tamil words in English letters like some members: E-g: " Anaithu memberhalukkum ennudaiya puthandu vazhthukkal. " Select any one pattern which will be easy for you. best regards, ********************** Moderator Reply ends *************************** --- srinivasan_ks2004 wrote: > Dear Moderator, > It is a great pleasure to > This Projest you have taken up.
