Dear Members of Vaideekam,

At the onset please let me introduce

myself. I am Kartik Ramabadran, aged 26 years, software engineer,

living in Bangalore. My details are :

 

Kalai : Vadakalai

Gothram : Bharadwaja

Nashatram : Maham.

Sarma : Varadaraja

 

I joined this group due to certain specific reasons :

 

1.To know more about our great culture.

2.To know more SriVaishnavas / Iyengars and their way of life.

3.To help myself in dissipating the usually associated myths with

Brahminism.

4.To ask queries regarding our various Sampradayams.

 

However there are certain observations made by me :

 

1.The postings are more about the process and the mode of talking to

each other and to the Moderator rather than in talking about concrete

issues in our Sampradayam.

 

2.There are lots of persons registered at the group but very few

actively participate in fruitful discussions.

 

3.The messenger symbol for Shree Vasuvadhyar shows that he is

online in the group but in the messenger it shows him as

offline.Could our Moderator please look at the same ?

 

4.I have a clarification regarding the origin of the following :

a.How , where and why did the culture of wearing " Poonal " originate.

Why do Shatriyas and even photographs of Gods shown wearing the same.

 

b.What is the significance of the " Madisaru podavai " .How did the

difference in wearing styles of Madisaru in Iyer and Iyengar

originate.
