Guest guest
Dear Mama, One thing, I forgot. Namma kudumbangalil vazhiadi vazhaiyaga valarnthu vantha pazhakkangallai nam kelvi ketkakkudathu. Enenral, namma pannugira karyathil nam nambikkai vaithuthan pannuginrom. Nambikkai illai enral vittuvidavendiyathuthane? At the same time, for knowledge and understanding, we should know what we are doing and why we are doing and seek answers for the same. But as long as we have faith in our traditional customs and practices, we should draw line at some point and not go beyond such line. Your explanation that 'pretham' becomes 'pithru' should be sufficient for knowledge sake. There is a tendency nowadays in our people, especially those who migrate out of the country and who cannot for other reasons do not follow our traditions to decry some of our practices on the question of logic and reason. I do not think we belong to the Nyaya or Vaisheshika schools of thought. We belong to Vedanta school of thought where we have only to enquire Brahmam. Therefore, all our effors at getting knowledge should be about Bhagavan and our Atma and ways of final emancipation from samsara sagaram. We are only followers of traditions and cannot assume the role of redefining the traditions to suit our own purposes or times. I do not mean to disrespect anyone, but have given my views as you have requested comments from group members.
