I haven't been able to post at all earlier because of being busy at work, but I have many questions that I hope can be clarified. I very much appreciate the dedication that Swami Vasuvaadhyaar was taken to remind us of the various important days, his clarification on shastram, etc. and enjoy reading the contributions of all members when I get the time. My question is as follows. I had my upanayanam in 2001 and we belong to the Saama Shaakha. I have a few books in Kannada describing the Shri Vaishnava Saama Veda Sandhyaavandanam procedure, but I find some of these difficult to understand as the instructions are often in Sanskrit - which I have only had limited exposure to being born and brought up in the UK. What I was hoping to clarify is, are the manthras for Saama Veda sandhyaavandanam to be chanted with the same swaras as Yajur vedis do? None of the books I have display the swaras. At the moment I am just chanting the manthras which are common to both with the same swara as Yajur Vedis do. But I don't know how to chant the ones that are not common (for example, praashanam " ahascham aadityascha... " and much of the upasthaanam " yashoham bhavaami... " ) If anyone can shed light on this I would be most grateful. But, you have not mentioned that you can read it in Tamil? In which language you want it. It is very boring to type the manthrams in English, because it has to be typed letter by letter which will take much time; also there are much phonetic pronounciation differences in English. But, if you are not able to read Tamil, no problem I will do it for you (peoples like you) but it will take another two are more days to complete. There is no swaram required (I am 100% sure about it), for the portions like " aapohishta mayobhuvaha " for sama vedhis. They tell this manthram without any swaram. (Not for yajur vedhis). You should keep the swaram for sama ghanam like 'vyahruthi Samam', 'upakarma samam' etc. so, you can do the sanndhya vandhanam without knowing the swarams, don't worry. Hint:- I was also a person who did not know even achamanam or pranayamam or even what is our sect " Thenkalai " or " vadakalai " upto my 31st year. After that I learned everything by searching people, going here and there, collecting printed materials etc. by spending more than 16 hours a day. Also for your encouragement; I have often found that some people are quick to judge people (especially youngsters like myself) who don't know all the vaidika karmas - but not many, in my limited experience, give encouragement or explanations as you have done - it is really great.
