Guest guest
Dear Mama, I am at the outset once again sorry if I have hurt your or any other member's feelings by sending the earlier two messages. I am now simply quoting hereunder Manu Dharma Sastra from 2.17 onwards only for the information of the members as I am sure you know that already. People who read the following extract from the Manu Neethi may form their own conclusions: "2.17. The land created by the gods and lying between the divine rivers Sarasvati and Drsadvati is called 'Brahmavarta' - the region of Brahman. 2.18 The conduct handed down from generation to generation among the social classes and the intermediate classes of that land is called the 'conduct of good people'. 2.19 Kurukshetra and the lands of the Matsyas, Panchalas, and Surasenakas constitute the land of 'Brahmin Seers', which borders on the Brahmavarta. 2.20 All the people on earth should learn their respective practices from a Brahmin born in that land. 2.21 The land between the Himalaya and Vindhya ranges, to the east of Vinasana and west of Prayaga, is known as the 'Middle Region'. 2.22 The land between the same mountain ranges extending from the eastern to the western sea is what the wise call 'Aryavarta' - the region of the Aryas. 2.23 The natural range of the black buck is to be recognized as the land fit for sacrifice; beyond that is the land of the foreigners (mlechcha). 2.24 Twice born people should diligently settle in these lands; but a Sudra, when he is starved for livelihood, may live in any region at all. 2.25 I have described to you above succinctly the source of the law (prior to 2.17) as also the origin of this whole world (prior to 2.17). Learn now the Laws of the social classes. (from 2.26 onwards." My understanding of the above is that the manu shastra from 2.26 onwards applies to the land as defined above. The social classes are brahmins, kshatriyas, vaisyas and sudras. As the first three have Poonal, they are called the twice born. Subsequent injunctions deal with all these elaborately. The above extract is useful in the discussion 'crossing the ocean' Mama, I think you should continue to exercise your moderation functions and not withdraw from those functions. Guest guest
Dear Advocate Sir, Thanks for your message with dharma sastra original quotings. Also, I wish to inform all members that all should understand that there is no straight connection to dharma sastram and vaideekam. Also I know there are hundereds of vadhyars who do not know anything about dharma sastra. I am not stating this to disqualify them, but I wonder that they are able to continue as a famous bruhaspathy without the knowledge of dharma sastra. So, it is obvious, dharma sastra knowledge is not a must for a bruhaspathy?! (But I don't know this concept before learning somthing about dharma sastra) (Attn. Mr. Raghuveeradayal, who had separatly sent the same request, given at the end of this message.) So, I will reply only for the questions directly connected to vaideekam as one of the member of this group not as a moderator. No moderation is required for this group. I changed the sttings like that. No new members can post anything. Only the old members can post messages. I am keeping the rights to ban any member at any time with or without prior notice. I allow all members to post their messages to the group. If any member found sending irrelavent messages / contents or abuse of the group features will be banned with the suggestion of the existing members. So, no moderation is required. As all other members I will also be a member and send my response which are applicable for me. So, I humbly request members to ask their questions or doubts in the following matters: Poorvam:- (You can ask what is poorvam?):- Prasava Punyaham, Beeja dhanam, jadhakarma, namakaram, naandhi, annaprasanam, chowlam, upanayanam, brahmopadesam, sandhya vandhanam, smidhadhanam, vradham, vivaham, vadhu gruhapravesam, manai poojai, noothana gruhapravesam, ayushya homam, ganapathi homam, navagraha homam, pumsavanam, seemantham, sashtiyaptha poorthi, sadhapishegam etc. Aparam:- Marana dhina karyams, dhahanam, sanjayanam, paashana sthapanam, nithyavidhi, dasaham (paththu), Ekaham (11), Sapindikaranam, Sodhakumbam, Sevakalam, oonam, masikam, varushaapthigam, prathyapthigam, tharpanam etc. Or simply questions directly related to a Bruhaspathi. There are more than 755 messages distributed on this group, I could not remember a single message on the above subjects directly related to a Bruhaspathi ?! But the name of the group is Vaideekam. No one had asked how to do a particular ritual function procedure or manthram. Actually I started this group to educate people in the field of vaideekam. Many bruhaspathis in Chennai are skipping procedures and manthrams. I feared if it continues, in the future none will aware of the actual procedures. There are lot of buitiful and meaningful farmalities. I hope Culture is only based on farmalities. If there is no formality, there will be nothing to say as our culture. Also there is no restrictions to publish books on this topic (Vaideekam). Many books had come out without the author name which very well destroying the culture. I wish to safeguard the culture. Here we are arguing about teh " Rishi moolam and Nadhi moolam " , which is very difficult to understand and which will be very painful to everybody. I already told some members, 'do not raise painful issues, switch it off immediately'. Often I remember my mother because she used to say a suitable " Pazhamozhi " for every situation. Now " Yaru vechcha kolliyo veedu erinju pochu " , it will take time to build a new house. Let us wait for it. Also one more thing I wish to say, I that I had joined the " M.A Vaishnavism Regular " in Madras university, so, From (1st August 05) Monday to Friday 11 to 4 I have to compulsorily attend the classes. Saturday and Sunday I have to go to " Vageesavani " for Level 3 course on " Vaishnavism " . So, there will be no time to do the moderation job. As everybody know that " To err is human " , as a human being, I might have done several mistakes, errors, in my tenur as a moderator, so, I humbly request the members to forgive with your devine heart all those errors. Dasadasoham, Deevalur N.V.Srinivasan Copy of the message from Mr.Raghuveeradhayal adiyen Raguveeradayal dasasya vignapanam. You know better thananyother members of this group how difficult it is to run the site(and that too most lively) . I used to wonder how do you manage to gettime to devote to this site as nowadays bruhaspathis like you have no time to attend your personal affairs and I know many vaideekas haveabsolutely no time to spend with their family .While you areshouldering such a big kainkaryam namely enlightening us in path ofSasthras and Dharma without expecting anything from us (and actually you may be spending thousands of rupee which is beyond imagination) itis natural that it will upset you when some pricks or comments aremade. I pray be not disturbed by some petty messages. Without yourmderation and live comments this site will lose its charm.Pleaseremember that all of the groups's members may and cannot beknowledgeable . Suppose your small child pranks, will you be nottolerant? Please continue as ever.
