Guest guest
Dear Mama, I don't think we had excluded NRIs from membership of SS. We can check the MOA and the AOA if you have them readily with you. I have to trace my copy and it will take some time. Generally, NRIs can donate to any charitable cause in India by sending remittances from abroad. But we have to take the permission of the Home Ministry of the Govt. of India for receipt of foreign inward remittances. This is routine but it implies that we have to submit periodical accounts to the Govt. of India by sending returns. If I remember right, non members also can donate to the SS. Now that you have PIOs., and Dual Citizenship Act, NRIs who become PIO holders or Dual Citizens can do everything in India except voting at general elections and standing for election to any public body or office. Certainly we can revive SS and I can also give you about a few hours every week for whatever work is necy. Mr. Vasudevan can send his remittance direct to your address which is the regd. office address of SS and this being the first remittance from abroad, it can provoke our application to the GOI and your auditor can handle this and I can give him whatever help is required. Though I had many plans and idea to improve the economically and socially backward people of our entire brahmin community, these are all the problems (procedures, maitanance of accounts, auditing, circulars, election, getting permissions to do some dharmam, fearing for others opinion etc.) which made me to run the " Sri Vaishnava Kendram " as an individual organaisation. Now I have no office at the registered address, so, I request you to do the necessary steps to change the address to any of your residence or office address, which may be permenent. (You know I am the only vadhyar who don't have own house in Chennai. But I am not at all willing to have a house in this temprory world.) I hope that you all know, time being I have plenty of work schedule like preparing texts for MA classes, Avani avittam, website updation, services through website like casting, matching of horoscopes and finaly my profession. So, if you dont think that I am try to escape from duties, I wish to quit my president post and willing to continue my contribution as an ordinary member, so, kindly make arrangements to restructure the unit. You can always utilize me at any level, I will meet you at your residence oneday after avani avittam. best regards, Vasu Vadhyar @ Deevalur N.V.Srinivasan
