[Vaideekam] Suggestion wanted to approve membership

dear sir,

i have read the form. the person seems tobe a

tenkalai iyengar sect though his father's name

suggests that his father is not a brahmin. but this

person seems to abide by our custom, i feel he may be

given a chance for membrship. it is upto the other

members to decide.

Dear Mama

 

The very fact that he has himself evinced interest

being born and brought up far off Bharatha Kandam in

joining our group goes to show his sincerity in

greater understanding and observing our shastras and

sampradhayams. I strongly feel he should be taken in

as a member and share our knowledge for our mutual

benefit. His personal details furnished, I am sure,

will enthuse one and all to become deeply interested

in our rich traditions and culture no matter where we

are born and live. All that is required is conviction

His name suggests otherwise but he seems keen to learn Vaideekam. I am not

familiar with Shastram on these matters. But if there is no such restrictions on

those grounds I do not see any reason why we should dis-approve him.

Sastram is not atall rejecting person of any varnam, but it was mainly made for

four varnams who belive and obey this sastram. It is not restricting anybody.

Anybody can simply become a person of 5th varnam by leaving sastram. So, it is

not a question of sastram, but about the nature, style, behaviour and freeness

of the group may slightly change, when we are adding persons other than brahmin.

My opinion regarding the use of our Group is only Brahmins can understand the messages fully and make use of them. There are people who are not brahmins but they understand things and follow like brahmins because of association with brahmins and mainly with the involvement/association of Brahmins. Such people also can understand the messages and such people can join. One thing - only those who are interested will join and if they cannot follow the message they will discontinue. (For deleting non users we should have a system that each member should sent or acknowledge the message at least once in a month or 45 days. This will help for deletion of non-active members).

 

By our group if non-brahmins can understand some thing it is good.

The important days given in the group also help them for many to observe them.
