Respected swamin,

Daasasya vigyapanam :

You have discussed about 'pavithram'.

My request is

1) kindly give a 'demonstration' of how to prepare the 'pavithram' and

'koorcham' with photos

2) Is there any significance on using '2 dharbams' for 'subha karyam' and three

dharbam for

'tharpanam' etc.

3) The 'Upakarma' file uploaded in pdf format was very useful. However, with

audio, all the

parts were not available for one click. It is my humble suggestion that

'the audio' file

could have been done in one folder so that the same could be straight away

downloaded.

In the file posted, we had to go to each section separately to hear the audio.

With pranams,

Adiyen,

***Adiyen,

3) (it is very useful when asking question with number to answer in any order we

like) If we start telling reason, we can tell reason for anything. Though I know

the above statment, there are reasons for not uploading the audio in single

file. (But they are only in a single folder. We can not download folders as it

is, unless it is zipped)

a) Many exams

b) Divya desa Yathras

c) Muhurthams

d) web server change

e) shifting of house

there were so many reasons, but still I tried my level best to be active in

replying almost all mails (not only in this group in all other groups, and

directly from website, feedbacks etc.)

At the same time, this year I had given the upakarma newly in English and also

in .pdf in english with many photos which taken a huge valume of time.

Also it was very necessary to modify all the pages to suit the new webserver.

I hope you may guess my problems, I am not stating all these things to

substantiate my inability, but the feeling " that how we made bhagavadhas to put

in trouble to do the Upakarma "

So, I beg to submit appologies first ( so I had taken this first).

2) some times, we are happen to think about something only after a question or

attention made by others. For this question also I am giving the below

explanation only by guess:

a) Using 3 dharbhams for pithru karyam may denote that pithrus are 3 in number

'Vasu', 'Rudhra', 'Adhithya'.

b) Using single dharbham for 'Predham' that denotes single athma.

c) We are doing poojas to the 'Sriman Narayanan' or any other supreem god with

his female part it requires the number two.

Or as a 'Dwijan' who does his regular duties with two dharbhams.

(thinking that a and b are irregular and rare).

The given reason may be correct or not, I had never read about the reason for

this elsewhere.

Note:- As instructed / identified : shortly I will send the photos and

description to prepare 'Pavithram', 'Bhugnam', 'Shortening of Poonal', 'Brahma

Mudi' for Iyengar then Iyer step by step.

Vasu Vadhyar
