Guest guest
REVERED Shri Vasu Uncle, Malayabaksham , being adopted for 15 days , I follow certain traditional practices. Kindly comment for changes to be done in my practice. 1)I don't consume any hotel items, onion, poondu etc on these days. 2)Do malaya srardam on any day preferably on mahabarani. 3)Also Malaya tharpanam on malaya amavasai. 4)Is it that, on all the days we have to do tharpanam ideally ? Also kindly indicate the procedures/rituals to be followed on these days. To the extent possible I shall try to adopt. regards Srinivasan (Vaikanasam) ***Adiyen 1) Good. Keep it up. If possible ever. 2) Ok. If not possible on special days one more tradition is also there. Doing it on the thithi of their father. 3) Amavasai tharpanam is different from Mahalaya tharpanam. Mahalaya Amavasai will be performed as usual(monthly) amavasai. 4)Not necessary VAsu VAdhyAr
Guest guest
Dear Vasu mama, Namaskaram! One question related to Malayabaksham. Is it special to Malayabaksham tharpanam at rameshwaram ?? (My father has a trip coming up to rameshwaram during Malayabaksham. So would like to know) Thanks and Regards Suresh ***Adiyen, Mahalaya Paksham is a Punya Kaalam Sethu (Rameswaram) is a Punya Kshethram Mahalaya Paksha tharpanam is a Punya Kaaryam Needless to say that the combination of all the three is best. But it is not stressed to do it in a punya kshethram. If you have to spend about some thousands to reach a punya kshethram to perform the 'mahalaya tharpanam', more punyam can be obtained by doing some dhanams equal to that expense in the swakshethram itself.
