Namaskaram

 

Earlier I used to perform Mahalayabasham on either Panjami or father's thithi

namely Thrithiyai.

 

Now my mother is also no more. Her thithi is Chathurthasi.

I will be thanksful to be advised which thithi should be chosen for

mahalayabasham

Chathurthasi is preferred only for sanyasins and hence it is called as " Sanya

Hastha Mahalayam " .

 

When both father and mother are not alive, the father's thithi only to be

taken that also if you are not able to perform the tharpanam on special days

like MahaBharani, Madhyaashtami, etc.
