Guest guest
Can anyone in the group mail back to me the addresses of the famous temples for Rahu ans Shani in South India, and whether they will perform puja for Rahu and Shani (for Prihara) if money is sent to these temples on behalf of someone staying in Calcutta. Your reply direct to me or through the group will be much appreciated. Guest guest
I too agree with the views of the moderator Vasu mama. Not only Sri Vaishnavas but also Bhagavathas who have faith in Narayanan shall not do any preethi or shanthi to demi gods and / or navagrahas However, the NAVA THIRUPPATHI SHETHRAMs (near Tirunelveli) serves the purpose of each graha preethi respectively. Dasan *** Dear Member, I hope that you have seen my reply to Shri.Sadagopachar! I wish to thank you also for the message with understanding my views. So, I request all members to not to think that this moderator is onesided. regards, Moderator
Guest guest
Dear Sri VAsu VAdhyAr swAmi, I am just going through the procedure you uploaded for SatyanaaraayaNa puuja and notice that in there there that includes puuja for navagrahas, gaNapati - should this be understood in the same way as you mentioned below - to help those bhaktALs of those deities perform service to the deities who are dear to them? Or is it different here because we are praying mainly to SatyanaaraayaNa swami in this puuja and all the grahas/anya devatas are being invited as " spectators " ? After one of my cousins got married, the Vadhyar (a Sri Vaishnavar) helped him and his wife perform Satya NarayaNa puja. Is there any difference in this version or is it more or less the same for all traditions (with Vishvaksena aaraadhanam for some etc. as you have given)? with praNAmams namO nArAyaNAya Ranjan *** Sathyanarayana pooja itself a " Kaamya Pooja Karma " , which expects some phalan for it. Do not get confused with the previous few statements. Who ever did not know till now something about " Prapatthi " are not " Prapannas " , so, there is no problem to adopt any type of poojas and adding or leaving any number of devadas. In any pooja kramam or almost in all vaideeka kramam: there may be several devadas will be invited (aavahanam) and treated other than the main devada. So, it is there own will and wish to leave or keep the devadas othern than the main devada. It is better not questioning about a procedure which is formated and followed by elders since a long period. You may think that questioning about something to get more knowledge about it, but in the otherhand there is a chance to destroy the holiness of a traditional subject. nvs nvs
Guest guest
srI: I have not come across any srivaishnava in Tamilnadu performing sri satyanarayana puja in past years. Nowdays, things are different. Have seen business community doing this kind of puja among Telugu, Kannada, Tamil speaking people. Any one who has performed Pancha Samskaram becomes a Srivaishnavan. During upadesam, an acharya will guide us about the things to be avoided: to worship sriman narayana only. Perumal knows what to give and when to give, so don't request for any. Avoid partaking onion, garlic and other non satvika food items. Observe/perform nitya karma. dasan.
