Hence, Sanskrit in pdf format is the best option. By Sanskrit I assume that you mean that the Sanskrit portions of prayogas should be in Devanagari script and that any Tamil (prabandha) should be in Tamil script all in PDF format which is the most portable available today. I am all in favor of this. However let me ask if there are any (children or others) out there who do not know either Devanagari or Tamil scripts? In this case the standard International method of using Roman letters with diacritical markings adopted by the International Standards Organisation (ISO15919) for transliteration of all Indian Scripts perhaps would be better than either Devanagari or Tamil or both. I am also not averse to all three systems being made available and may I suggest that any and all of these scripts and many other Indian scripts can be generated automatically from the same input using systems such as Itrans. One only has to look at the website of Sunder Kidambi www.prapatti.com to see this in action. adiyen Keshava
Guest guest
SrI: Dear Sri Suresh: Sriman Sunder Kidambi is adevout sihya of Srirangam PeriyANDavan and hails from the Family of the predecessor to the present Srirangam Srimath Andavan , a great scholar revered as Mysore Andavan. He is a Parama VaishNavan from a great Kulam in India . I wonder what made you think that he was a German . Children are well conversant with this as they learn both Hindi and Sanskrit in school. Tamil is learnt in schools across T.N. only.I have visited Sunder Kidimbi's site. His chantings are excellent. I was curious to know whether is of Indian origin or is he German?M.V.Suresh
Guest guest
Namaskaram, Thankyou for the clarification. Germans are doing lot of research in Sanskrit and have posted number of rare manuscripts in pdf and mp3 formats on their sites. Sri. Sundar Kidimbi’s chantings are quite popular in all these sites. There are many Germans whose chantings are comparable and it is difficult to know the difference. Hence I sought this clarification. Germany offers financial aid to persons with knowledge of Sanskrit and there are many persons of Indian origin who are doing research.Max Muller is the inspiring factor. The Server of this site is located in the US. http://sanskrit.gde.to Regards M.V.Suresh On Thu, 15 Sep 2005 sgopan wrote : >SrI: > >Dear Sri Suresh: > >Sriman Sunder Kidambi is adevout sihya of Srirangam PeriyANDavan >and hails from the Family of the predecessor to the present Srirangam >Srimath Andavan , a great scholar revered as Mysore Andavan. > >He is a Parama VaishNavan from a great Kulam in India . >I wonder what made you think that he was a German . >V.S > - > Melarkode Venkateswaran Suresh > vaideekam > Cc: Greg Jay > Wednesday, September 14, 2005 12:45 PM > Re: Re: [Vaideekam] Sanskrit.pdf > > > Yes, you are right.
