Guest guest
VAsu Mama, I understand that Brahma Yagnam is also one of the nithya karmas. Most of the people are not following this nowadays and done only on upakarma day/srardham day. My question is, since this contains, pithru tharpanam, do we need to fast in the night everyday since pithru tharpanam is done? Regards, Seshadri Muralidharan *** Brahma Yagnam is also a nithya karma but Iyengars are not doing it on the Shradham day also. I could not understand the 2nd part of your question. Pithru tharpanam in Brahma Yagnam? Or You are asking about 'Mahalayam' period? I am answering for either case. 1. There is no Pithru tharpanam in Brahma Yagnam. 2. Some are keep taking phalahaaram upto the completion of the 'Mahalaya Tharpanam' some are keeping it till the end of Mahalaya Amavasai both are acceptable. Guest guest
Dear Deevalur Swami, namaskaram There are several texts and recordings of sandhya vandanam available in the market and on the web, including the one one your website. Everyone of them is slightly different in details. Please advise me as to which mantrams are absolutely essential and constitute the minimum that need to be chanted to consider the observance as performed properly. adiyen Keshava *** Dear Keshav, I am running very very short of time. I am unable to read messages, because I am getting only few minutes to sit on the computer now a days. I am giving manthras in the website or locally to anybody only with some strong evidence, I never give a word of my own without mentioning it which is of my own. So, the text what I had given is enough for beginners, let them do search for better and advanced manthrams, we can not say this is the final for any script except Vedham.
