Guest guest
dear mama adiyen namaskarangal i have a few queries regarding ekadasi vratham 1.for persons who are not in a position to observe fasting what is recommended i have seen people preparing uppuma and payatham paruppu kanji. are they acceptable. Is it that only items prepared with full rice is to be avoided? a detailed explanation will be helpful. 2. what is dwathasi vratham and how is it different to ekadasi vratham. dasan srnivasan ***Dear Srinivasan, Ekadasi is Vradham and Dwadasi is not Vradham but 'Paaranai'. 1. Without taking a drop of water for the whole Ekadesi day is called as 'Nirjala' upavasam. 2. Taking only one time tiffin and taking coffee like drinks when ever required. 3. Taking food (by roasting the rice before cooking it), with usual menu and taking tiffin in the night. The above mentioned three type of Ekadasi Vrdham can be graded 75% (25% for Dwadasi Paaranai) 75% 50% Success of Vradham if you do the 'Dwadasi Paaranai' i.e, taking food (after Dwadasi Aaradhanam) before 7.30 am is called 'Paaranai' which is most important than Vradham. The Paaranai is not done the 75% earned by the Eakadasi Vradham will also go lost. VAsu VAdhyAr ________ India Matrimony: Find your partner now.
