Guest guest
Dear Sri Vasu Vadhyar, and all learned members Most will know that during upanayanam we are initiated into use of the gaayatri mantram and sandhyaavandana mantras. However, I would like to know if we are usually initiated into the use of any other mantras during upanayanam. For example, does the vaadyar give upadesham of the " vedaarambham " mantras " agnimiiLE purohitam/ishe tvorje/agna aayaahi/shanno devi " as well? Or are these mantras usually taught in a separate ceremony from the upanayanam? My upanayanam was some time ago now and I have forgotten the details! I ask so that I can practice them as part of my regular suukta/mantra recitation, if I have had upadesham for them. Hope this question makes sense! praNAmangaL namo nArAyaNAya Ranjan *** Upadesam of Gayathri Manthram only will be done at the time of Brahmobadesam. All other manthrams should be learned from Vedha Vadhyar or joining a padasala. The Vedharambam should be recited as 'Brahma Yagnam' everyday. VAsu VAdhyAr.
