Guest guest
Use the following steps to make a " Dharbha Pavithram " Step-1Take 2 or 3 long dharbhams and make it wet for few minutes to be flexible.Cut them to maintain the same length about 12 - 14 inches. Simple idea about " Pavithram " :- It should have a hole in the middle to wear it in our ring finger. It can be done by twisting long dharbhams and folding them in the exact middle. Leave a hole portion and tie after it or make a knot near the hole. Step-2Hold the tips of the dharbhams by left hand above and twist them using right hand at the bottom (leave two inches untwistedly). Step-3Very important : Here after you should not leave the dharbhams to become untwisted.Use the left hand little finger to fold the twisted dharbams by putting the little finger in a place near to center of the dharbham. Step-4Now hold both ends of the dharbhams by right hand as the tips of the dharbhams are in equal heights. Now the dharbhams should be twisted again. (The twisting is possible by pressing the dharbhams on the index finger and moving the thumb towards the tip of the index finger by rolling the dharbhams.) Step-5Should not release the little finger from the middle of the dharbham to keep the hole. After the completion of the twisting process, again it should be folded at the middle using the the left hand index finger. Step-6Keep the left hand index finger in the middle and fold it to make a hole at the middle of the dharbham. (Do not release the little finger). Step-7Now hold the dharbham by left hand middle and thumb and release the left hand index finger from the middle hole. Actually, the hole portion of the dharbham should be twisted (rotated) technically (nunukkamaaha), bit by bit using the remaining fingers which are used to hold the first middle hole (holded by little finger), twisted ends of the dharbhams (holded by right hand middle finger and thumb finger.) Step-8After the completion of second or third twist, the tips of the dharbhams should be inserted into the hole newly made by twisting and tightened. Step-9At the end of your prepartion the pavithram will be like this. If you are not able to follow with the given procedures, better you ask your vadhyar to train it.
