Dear Srimathy Saranathan :

 

Thanks very much for your mail . You have requested to

answer the question posed by Sri Madhavan , who is genuinely

concerned about the problems faced by many in following

Vaidhika anushtAnams ( SamskArams) .

 

It is absolutely important to follow the Veda Manthrams associated with

SamskArams from a Competent Bruhaspathy ; if the Bruhaspathy

has undergone VedAdhyayanam , the recitation of the Manthrams

with Svarams would be even more desirable .

 

My Father and Grandfather were Bruhaspathys with

VedAdhyayanam ( My Father in Yajur Vedam and my grandfather

in both Yajur and Saama Vedam ) . They insisted that the adhikAri

follows them by reciting the Manthrams slowly and offering explanations,

whenever needed , about the significance of the Manthrams .

 

Many of us are scientists and professionals and enjoy knowing

why we do what we do .

P.S : Last year , adiyEn sponsored a one day seminar at West Mambalam

organized by Vaikunta Vaasi Sri Ozhapaakkam Swamy . Scholars spent

the whole day and gave upanyAsams on the significance of important

samskArams like Upanayanam , Seemantham , anthima KriyAs et al .

With the help of the organizers , adiyEn has recorded these sessions

in 5 DVDs . Because of the pressure of time that day , many scholars

who took part could not fully cover the various points that they wnated to

cover in their allocated topics . To tackle this problem , a written text

is being released soon . While the sabha was organizing the release of

this monograph at the end of this month , Srimaan OzhapAkkam Swamy

attained his AchAryan Thiruvadi . The release ceremony had to be postponed .

I am waiitng to hear about a new date for release of this important

monograph by the SabhA at West Mambalam ( K.R.KOil St) . I have copied
