Guest guest
SrI: Dear Srimathy Saranathan : Thanks very much for your mail . You have requested to answer the question posed by Sri Madhavan , who is genuinely concerned about the problems faced by many in following Vaidhika anushtAnams ( SamskArams) . It is absolutely important to follow the Veda Manthrams associated with SamskArams from a Competent Bruhaspathy ; if the Bruhaspathy has undergone VedAdhyayanam , the recitation of the Manthrams with Svarams would be even more desirable . My Father and Grandfather were Bruhaspathys with VedAdhyayanam ( My Father in Yajur Vedam and my grandfather in both Yajur and Saama Vedam ) . They insisted that the adhikAri follows them by reciting the Manthrams slowly and offering explanations, whenever needed , about the significance of the Manthrams . Many of us are scientists and professionals and enjoy knowing why we do what we do . It is in this context , I would like to invite your attention to Srimaan Vaasu Vadhyar of Chennai, who is rendering yeoman service to all aasthikAs as the Moderator of Vaideekam Group and answers tirelessly all the questions related to the observances . The address of this group is : Vaideekam His web site is a treasure house of information: http://www.ahobilam.com Very concrete , correct (SampradhAyic) and practical (no nonsense) help is given to Members seeking help at that web site . You must access these web pages to realize the wealth of Information there . We owe a debt of gratitude to Srimaan Vaasu VadhyAr of West Mambalam (Srimaan Deevalur N.V.Srinivasan ) for the unique and much needed Kaimkaryam thru the web site; free services for all who wish to follow the path prsecribed by our SaasthrAs and ahnikam are also provided . Although Srimaan Vaasu VadhyAr is very self-effacing , it is important for all of us to know the availability of such help to clarify our doubts in English and Tamil . His commitment to help aasthikAs with great sacrifices of time and energy is astounding . One of his sons is earning a Technical degree in an Engineering Institution but is capable of performing Vaidhika SamskArams and helping his father as needed . His other son is attending Srimath Srirangam Andavan's Veda PaatasAlai at VaduvUr , where GanapAdi DesikAcchAr Swamy is the head . Without embarassing , Sriman Vaasu VaadhyAr , I am delighted to say that he practises what he believes in thru settign us all an example that there is a way if one wants to , to nourish our ancient (sanaatana) dharmams .. Please become members of this Vaideekam group and access the Web Pages (ahobilam.com) for archival material and for discussions . With prayers to the dhivya damapthis and AchAryans for the continued growth in the Kaimkarya Sri of Sriman Vaasu VaadhyAr , Daasan , Oppiliappan KOil V.Sadagopan New York , USA P.S : Last year , adiyEn sponsored a one day seminar at West Mambalam organized by Vaikunta Vaasi Sri Ozhapaakkam Swamy . Scholars spent the whole day and gave upanyAsams on the significance of important samskArams like Upanayanam , Seemantham , anthima KriyAs et al . With the help of the organizers , adiyEn has recorded these sessions in 5 DVDs . Because of the pressure of time that day , many scholars who took part could not fully cover the various points that they wnated to cover in their allocated topics . To tackle this problem , a written text is being released soon . While the sabha was organizing the release of this monograph at the end of this month , Srimaan OzhapAkkam Swamy attained his AchAryan Thiruvadi . The release ceremony had to be postponed . I am waiitng to hear about a new date for release of this important monograph by the SabhA at West Mambalam ( K.R.KOil St) . I have copied Sriman Srinath , the secretary of the Sabha on this mail . - " jayasartn " <jayasree.saranathan <Oppiliappan > Friday, November 25, 2005 3:40 AM Re: Practical Difficulties in performing Pujas / Homas / ceremonies etc. > SrI: > > Respected Sri Oppiliappan Sadagopan Swamin, > Since we have not received any replies to this query, may I ask you > to give your opinion? > > Regards, > jayasree > > Oppiliappan , " jayasartn " > <jayasree.saranathan@g...> wrote: >> >> SRIMATHE RAMANUJAYA NAMAHA. >> >> Yes, I am interested to know what people do or how they manage to >> repeat or recite the manthras.
