Guest guest
Respected Vasu Vadhyar, Your thoughts on the Shrrardha process is highly enlightening written in simple yet lucid prose. Have a few queries with regard to the same: (i) It is said that donation of a iron lamp (irumbu vilakku) on the 10 th day shows light to the pithru on his voyage to paramapadam; (ii) It is said that Shaaligrama daanam is a highly recommended daanam during the varsh aabhtikam & (iii) What is the course to be adopted in case one attains death under unnatural circumstances? Egerly awaiting your response on the above. Thanks & Regards Bharat *** (i) I don't know about giving irumbu vilakku on 10th day. Vaishnavites are not doing any such Dhanam on 10th day. (ii) Shaalagrama dhaanam is one of many dhanams listed. It has its own merit in the order of prefrence of Dhanams but it is to be checked to whom it should be given. Also there is no such proceedure of giving dhanams in Varusha Apthika day with the best of my knowledge. (iii) There is no difference in death with regarding to 'Athma' because as per 'Bhagvan's verse in Gita' Athma should not be dried, cut, weted, burned etc. So, nothing will happen to the Athma in the case of unnatural death. But there are several Prayachiththam stated in the Prayogam : as Jala Marana prayachiththam, Aayudha Marana..., Sarpam like praani visha marana ... etc. for Shareeram which should be done before burning it. I hope these are all to be learned in a step by step procedure (Krama Paadam), when somebody want to learn Aparam completely.
