While reading your reply I got information about the places and I have noted

But when you are writing some thing it has got meaning and mostly nobody will

think as suya puranam. Moreover it gives a personal touch as well.

***Thanks, I forgot to add the Divyadesams on 02-01-2006 at Kumbakonam 1.

Oppiliyappan 2. Saarngapaani.

And I came to know that in the month of Margazhi on the 19th day, the 'Thaayaar'

will be dressed (Alankaaram) as " Perumal " at 'Saarngapaani Temple'.

I hope that (and as well as request) Shri.Sadagopachar Swami can describe more

about this celebration for us.

Thanks and regards,

VAsu VAdhyAr

Dear Members :

Yes , on the 19th day of Maarghazhi , AarAvamudhan

and His dharma Pathnee , KomaLavalli ThAyAr dress

differently .

He wears the dress of a lady and She adorns the dress

of Her Lord and they go around the prAkArams .

KomaLavalli ThAyAr is known as the Padi ThANDaa Pathni

and hence she never steps out of Her temple walls . Even in Kanu ,

when Her friends ( Vijauvalli ThAyAr from ChakrapANi Koil and

SithA PirAtti from Ramaswamy Temple) arrive at the PoRRAMaraikkuLam

pushkaraNi of Hers , KOmaLavalli stays inside the steps of Western

gates to join from distance to place the Kanuppadi.

There are some unique events at specific dhivya dEsams and

abhimAna Sthalams , which are traditional . For instance,

Lord of Thirukkudanthai performs Sraddham for a dear devotee

every year sicn ehe had no progeny . At ThirukkaNNapuram ,

in one of the BrahmOthsavam days , VibhUthi is given as PrasASaadham

to devotees instead of TuLasi . In another dhivya dEsam , the fishermen clan

are given special recognition during one of the Uthsavam days .

PerumAL adorning women's dress as Mohini is well practised to

remind us of the distribution of nectar to DevAs and cheating

the AsurAs out of that .

ThAyAr adorning Herself could be speculated upon as a salute

to Her PurushaakAram or intercession with Her Lord .

When Lord RanganAtha adorned the Mohini Vedsham ans asked

Swamy Paraasara Bhattar as to how He looked in that dress change ,

the honest Bhattar who was raised by the dhivya dampathis of Srirangam

responded that the Lord's alankAram as a Lady was good but not

enought o transcend the natural soundharyam of His dharma Pathnee.

Lord RanganAtha accepted that answer .
