Guest guest
Respected vasu vadiyar avargalluku, Ramanan aneha namaskarangal. my grateful thanks for you prompt reply explaining the significance of mudi errakkum prarthani. Could you please guide me to any authentic book in english or tamil , explaining the significance of sampradayangal/sadangugal.(with details of publication to enable me to obtain) Also may I request you clarify on second point raised by me, namely, during upanayanam, the brahmachari in sama veda is required to tonsure his head & in other sakas the boy sports a kudumi. Why this difference. Thank you, Pranams ramanan (poona) Ramanan-Saroja *** Some differences will be there between " Soothrams " . Yajur Vedham Soothrams written by " Aapasthambar " Saama Vedham Soothrams written by " Dhrahyayanar " , he decided to do 'Mottai' than 'Kudumi' (Vachcha kudumi, Sarachcha mottaiyo ennavo). I remember one related Vaideeka joke: one time when one person tried to fix a vadhyar for a samskaram for a lady, but he failed to fix a vadhyar due to some problem. He is having a book, which describes all the prayogam step by step. So, he thought, what is there, why we ourselve should not do it, by reading the sentence by sentence and conducting the karma. He started doing. In one stage, a page in that book is ending as " Mundanam Kaarayithvaa " which means (Do mottai or remove hairs), he asked the husband to remove the hairs of the girl (his wife), he turned the next page of that prayoga book and found " Manthravadhu " which means 'just say the manthram only without removing hairs actually', he said some " thscho thscho thscho .... " by his mouth (what we do when we happen to do a thing mistakely) ..... remaining story guess yourself. regards, nvs
