Guest guest
Shri Mama, I have one Chalegrama , which I kept in Pooja Room alamarrah for the last one year. Now I am having fear that whether it will give any bad effect. I heard from some that it belongs to the God SHIVA, from some others it belongs to the God VISHNU, from some others both are there. Actually I do not know what category I am having in hand. How to find out that? Also I want to do every day pooja for it. For pooja I am not having sufficeint time in Morning because I am the working women. So please let me know the [1] easiest way of doing pooja everyday [2] how to find out whether it is Shiv Chalalgrama OR Vishnu's Chalagrama. [3] Mahathuvam of chalegrama [4] purpose and progress we will gain from it. With regards Adiyen Rajani Iyer *** Dear member, >>Now I am having fear that whether it will give any bad effect. Do not get fear, start daily pooja you will get plenty of pleasure. >> I heard from some that it belongs to the God SHIVA, from some others it belongs to the God VISHNU, from some others both are these lines remembering me the story of " five blinds inspected an elephant " . A salagrama moorthi itself not the mere God. It is a solid and traditional representation of God. You can worship Vishnu with " Shiva " idle but you could not worship " Shiva " with Vishnu idle. So, do not worry about the moortham, you just think it as Vishnu or Shiva whichever your favorite God. Now answer for your questions: [1] easiest way of doing pooja everyday *** Just take bath, come to the pooja room, keep a bowel of water or a cup of fresh milk in the pooja place, open the Salagram box, take out the morrthi, call the God with your favourite namavali as many times as you can, tip the moorthi in that milk or water, gently dry the moorthy with a pice of silk cloth, put it again in the box, throw some wet sandal powder, two, three flowers on it, just show a dheepam to it, bow down and do namaskaram, close the box and go to your daily duity. [2] how to find out whether it is Shiv Chalalgrama OR Vishnu's Chalagrama. *** Take some pice of papers in equal size. Write down the names of suspicious gods each one in each paper. Draw one and put the name for it. [3] Mahathuvam of chalegrama *** Saalagrama Mahathvam can not be tell in few words. But in simple; you can realize it in experience if you start doing saalagrama pooja sincerely. [4] purpose and progress we will gain from it. *** Bhagyam to do pooja is the gain of doing pooja. Note:- Some of my answer may appear as joking or critizicing, but I had given all the answers in a sincere manner. nvs
Guest guest
sri Vasu vadhyar, The person who sent this mail is a woman. What is the code to follow to do salagrama aradhanam by her? Is it not enought just to offer prasadam to salagrama murtham? My understanding is that a salagrama aradhanam has to be performed by purusha (male) after Samasrayanam. I do have salagrama murthys at home.I seek your advice for doing salagrama worship by a woman (spouse) when I go out of town. Please advise me. dasan. *** The Saalagrama Aradhanam can be done only by a male. We can appoint a male person to do the aaradhanam whenever we are not able to do it. If in the case of lady who is having a Saalagram moorthy without a male person in a house can submit that moorthy temprorily / permanently to any one who is doing Saalagrama aaradhanam. Also it is there in practice, if a family is going long tour, may hand over the moorthy to their neibhour to do pooja till they come back. nvs
Guest guest
Respected Shri. Vasu Vadhyar Regarding performing Saalagrama Aradhana, I came accross an interesting manner in which a very great scholar performs it when he is an a tour. He has a Saalagrama (a small one - may be Hiranya Garbha) for the purpose, which he has imbedded with a golden ring and wears it. During tour (even when abroad) he removes ring from his fingure and performs Aradhana. May be it has sanctions of the rituals without which he would not be doing it. Incidentally I am blessed with 12 Saalagramas at home and I perform Aradhana while in HQ. My problem is to carry any of these with me while going on tours. I can say I cannot be equated in purity with the rituals followed by the above stated Scholar and I dare not wear a Saalagrama on a ring. Adien daasan B.K.Srinivasa Ragavan *** It shows there is no difference between a " Lingayath " and the stated Scholor(?!). Then everybody will started to put a room in the wrist watch or in their cell phone for their saalagarama moorthy. They can set a " Om namo naarayanaya " ring tone permenently fot it to perform a 24x7x365 Aaradhanam and get a place in the Guinness book (?!). regards, nvs
