Guest guest
Respected Swamin Thank you very much for the reply. I am sorry for wrongly indicating 24th as chathurthi. Please pardon me. It is not manavalan vathayr. I do not know whether it would b advisable for me to indicate his name in the widely published mail as he may get offended. Once again thanks a lot. Adiyen, A.Govindakrishnan Sneak preview the all-new .com. It's not radically different. Just radically better.
Guest guest
Namaskarams to Shriman Vasu Vathiar, As expressed in my previous mail I am extremely grateful for your immediate response to my mail. In my happiness that you took pains to clear the doubt of this aged man, I did not notice the last line. I have noted the sarcasm and in all humility I am duty bound to explain my stand. My intention was not one of fishing expedition and cross checking the statements of the vathiars swamis from Chennai. I am in Bangalore and all my elders are to perform the Srardha ceremony at Chennai. In spite of my telling the regular Vathiar swamy here about the opinion of Chennai swamys, he was maintaining his stand. The only alternative for me was either to seek another Vathiyar Swamy or ask him to do it with all displeasure that I disregard him. Going for another vathiryar swamy would be an insult to the regular swamy and hence I thought that I would convince him with tNhe opinion of learned persons. The opinions of Chennai swamys are all oral and the local vathiyar swamy thinks that I am arguing for my convenience. Hence I thought that if I could get the opinion from devareer in this respectable site, it would be all the more easy for me to convince him. I again repeat that I was not cross-checking the statements of Chennai swamys or testing the knowledge of devareer. As an elderly person I humbly feel that such sarcasm would only pour cold water on genuine truth seekers. Still if devareer feels that the way you have concluded your mail, I am very sorry. Guest guest
Respected Swamin My pranams for immediate answer. In the " Pampu panjangam " for avyaya varusham four timings have been given for Chandragrahanam and 3 timings for Sooryagrahanam. For chandragraham sparsam, aarambam, madyamam, mudivoo and moksham. For soorya grahanam aarambam, madyamamam and mudivoo. Hence my doubt what is the difference between sparsam and aarambam and mudivoo and moksham. There is a lot of time gap between these. By ritual I meant snanam for ladies and other pithukarmas for gents. Whether these timing have any bearing? This was my doubt. Sorry that I was not very elobarate. Respectfully, GJ *** Sparsam is just nearing the boundary. Aarambam means started overlaping a small portion. Whenever the total grahana time is more it will be mentioned. If the total grahana time is less they may not be mentioned. Practically the timings are not rigid always. If ten persons are having only one bath room, any how the tenth man should be little late?! Try to obey sastrams conveniently, do not imagine / make it as a 'maha bhootham'. nvs
Guest guest
Dear Sir, Similar to the doubt raised by Shriman GA Iyengar, I too have a doubt. My younger brother's wife passed away on 25 Nov 2007 and the 27th day rites fall on 21st Dec and the 45th day falls on 8th Jan 2008. Our Vathiyar says that the 27th day rites should not be done on 21st which is a Friday but should be done on 22nd Dec, a Saturday. Also, the 45th day rites should not be done ob 8th Jan 2008 but only on 14th Jan 2008, as the period between 8th and 13th Jan are not suitable. Is it correct? Can we postpone these 27th and 45th days' rites like he says? Please clarify. We belong to Bruhacharanam (Iyer), Srivathsa Gothram, Apasthamba Sutram. Yours SA Narayanan 20 Dec 2007 *** 25th November the thithi is : Karthikai Krishna Prathamai. From 25th of November... 6 days in November 21 days in December to meet the 27th day. The thithi for 2nd Masyam is on 24th December So we have time upto Sunday 23rd December. If the elder Kartha's star is not Mrugasirsham then it is better to fix the Aadhya Oonam (27th Oonam) on 23rd December will be perfect. Even though Janma star of kartha on Sunday, it is better to perform on Sunday than Friday Or Saturday. Again 4th January is the 41st day and 8th January is 45th day. On any reason the Thraipakshika oonam should be performed any one of the day in this duration. So, it can be done on 9th or 10th January. No conditions of sastram restricts to do it on these days as per my limited knowledge. Please check the counting of days, I have not re checked did it as a memory sum without using papers or pen. nvs >>>*** Its actual sanskrit name is : " Thripakshika oonam " It should be done on 41 to 45th day including the date of death. If possible Tuesday, Fridays, Saturdays, Main Karthas janma Nakshathram avoidable It can be on any thithi - duration is the main condition No confusion, Given are 100% perfect. >>>***
