They can open the "Perumal Potti" keep some flower or Tulasi without touching the Moortham and can offer the Prasadam - fruits - milk - curd - etc. but shall NEVER TOUCH THE MOORTHAM. Thirumanjanam etc will be done only by Male. and once in a year on the day of my father's Thiruvadhyanam Aathu Brahasbathi does the thirumanjanam fully as per sampradayam If we happen to go out of station - we used to keep some Rice - Thuvaram Paruppu along with a piece of Vellam in a bowl before the Perumal Sannadhi (of course applying ANT Powder round the bowl).
