Dear AaasthikAs :

 

In this SamsAric life of ours , there are intense times of Joy , when we

are enjoying the SarvalOka SaraNyan's Roopam , GuNam and VibhUthi.

There are also times of gruelling pain and inconsolable sorrow , when

we are seperated from Him and His Divine Consort .

 

Swamy Desikan experienced such a period of intense sorrow,

when he had to leave Srirangam because of the horrible atrocities

committed by the Muslim invaders and the threat they posed to

the Bhaagavatha Community there . He arrived at Sathyagalam

near Melkote and meditated on Lord RanganAtha and the dhivya

dEsam of Srirangam and prayed for the removal of his fears

and sorrow over the forced seperation from his Sarva Swamy

and begged the Lord for reunion with Him as soon s possible

and drive away the offending hoard of Muslim invaders .

 

Parama DayaaLu Lord Ranganatha responded to Swamy Desikan's

prayer and returned to Srirangam for the resumption of AarAdhanam

after chasing away the inauspiciousness of the cruel invaders from

far off lands . Peace was restored and Swamy Desikan returned from

Melkote , which had provided him temporary shelter under the sacred

feet of AchArya RaamAnuja and ThirunArAyaNa PerumAL.

 

Whenever we have fear about anything , it is customary to recite

Abhethi Sthavam of Swamy Desikan to chase away SamsAric Bheethi

and klEsams about Kaimakrya VirOdhis (Obstacles to Bhagavath

BhAgavatha AchArya Kaimkaryams).
