Ahobilam Yatra & Parikkal Homam - Announcement

Dear Members,

I am glad to inform you that we (students of Vaishnavism Department Madaras University) 25 members planned to go to " Ahobilam Divyadesam " - below is the schedule for that trip.

11.08.2006

Starting from Chennai Egmore - Kachchaguda Express Departure time : 17.00 Hrs (5.0 pm) S9 coach.

Reaching Cuddapa by 10.15 pm

Van arranged from there to go to Kizh Ahobilam.

Accomodations and food arranged there.

We are doing Dharshan of all nine Narasimha Kshethrams there by starying 12th and 13th.

We are starting our return journey by 8.00 pm (13.08.2006).

Reaching Cuddapa station by 10 pm. and catching the same return express by 12.20 midnight.

The train arrival time at Chennai Egmore is : 06.40 am (14.08.2006).

I humbly request possible members to join this trip with us.

This will be a proud for me if many number of members obliged my request.

 

One more announcement :-

As previous two years, the third year " Sri Maha Sudharsan, Lakshmi Nrusimha Yagnam " will be conducted at " PARIKKAL " .

Though we are belongs to the Tamil Era, in practice we are mostly adopting the English era to fix all our appointments.

So, I am again stressing my aim for conducting the homam for the sake new members.

I wish to do some " SUBHA VIRAYAM " from my account. I hope, if I do the " Subha Virayam " willingly in the beginning of the year, God will grace me through out the year with out any other unknown and ashubha virayams.

 

So, the complete expenses related to this 'Yagnam' will not be shared with anybody for any reason.

The cost of the materials for the 'Yagnam', Vasthrams, Pushpams, Garlands to all deities & dhathiyaaradhanam for all participants will be of mine.

But, members of our group and my friends, known, unknown anybody can participate in this yagnam physically or in the list of 'Shankalpam'.

The 'Yagnam' will be perform any of the following dates :

01. 07.01.2007 Sunday (Just to use the Sunday Holiday)

02. 13.01.2007 Saturday (Swathi is the special on this date)

Previous day evening the Japam will be started after the Grand Sankalpam for all of our members.

Majority members decision will decide the date and the confirmed date will be announced on or before 15th December 2006.

 

This year I wish to arrange the following for persons who are willing to participate in the 'Yagnam' physically.

Persons who are all willing to participate physically should inform me on or before 31.12.2006.

Both way Transport from Chennai, Accommodation at Parikkal, Coffee, Tiffin, snacks will be arranged during journey and at stay.

This cost will be collected from the physical participants. Willing members should Rs.300/- per head as advance to confirm.

The balance will be returned or collected according to the actual expenditure. Other members coming from other region can send only Rs. 100/-

All these things are required to guess the exact number of participant to prepare the 'Dhdhiyaaradhanam' (to be frank).

Our Group members can send their names for Sankalpam as follows:

 

The sankalpam will be go like these :

If the head of the family is a male person :

................Nakshathre ....................Raasaou Jaathasya .................. .Gothrasya ................Sharmana: Asya Saha Kudumpasya

(or)

if the head of the family is a female person

...............Nakshathre ...................Raasaou .Jaathaaya: ....................Gothraaya: ................Naamnya: Asya: Saha Kudumpasya

So, you should fill the blanks with the details of your family head.

Do not send complete list of your family members, which will not be possible to read at the time of Sankalpam.

 

Also I request members who are willing to participate in the 'Yagnam' as Rudwig capable of chanting the following manthras may inform their interest to participate in the 'Yagnam'. They will be honoured by paying to and fro charges from their residence and with a little 'Sambhavana'.

 

 

1. Pancha Suktham

2. Pancha Shaanthi

3. Khosha Shaanthi

4. Nrusimha Manthrams

5. Sudharsana Manthrams

6. Thiruppavai

These are common, other common sthothras and Desika Sthothrams will be chanted at times.

The Shankalpam will be done before 6 pm of previous day. 6 to 6.30 pm break for Sandhya Vandhnam

6.30 pm to 8.30 pm the Japam will be done.

Night Saatrumurai will be followed.

9.0 pm dinner.

Next day (Yagnam day) morning 5.00 am Thiruvaaradhanam

At snaanaasanam:

Japa Dheertham will be carried to 'Moolavar' and Thirumanjanam will be done with that.

Purusha Suktham and Thiruppavai will be recited there.

Shesha dheertham will be carried to perform the Thirumanjanam for " Aaathu Vigrahams "

Thiurvaardhanam continues at chathram from Snanam.

Saatrumrai will be done by 6.00 am

6 to 7.30 am break for Sandhi and Abhigamanam.

Ridwigs will arrange the 'Yagna Kundam' and all in the mean time.

By 7.30 to 8.00 am Again with a small sankalpam the 'Yagnam' will be started.

Skuthams and small count of Japams will be done upto 8.45 am

The Homa Agni will be raised few minutes before 9 am.

The homam will be done upto 10.45 am

10.45 am Poornaahuthi Sankalpam

11 to 11.10 am Poornaahuthi.

Saatrumurai, Sambhavanis, Prasaadha Viniyogam will be completed by 12.30 noon

Dhdheeyaaradhanam will be started by 12.30 noon.

By 2.00 pm everything will be completed and the returning procedures will be taken.

I hope that I have explained everything.

But still there may be some doubts due to misunderstanding of my Language.

So, I request all to send you doubts and clarifications without hesitation.

We don't have enough time to arrange ticket and all.

So, you can come to Ahobilam by the same train or by any other means,

But we can adjust the accomodation and food there in Ahobilam.

I have recently joined the Group and I am happy to know of your

Ahobilam programme only now. You had come to our house in 2001 at

Valasaravakkam and helped us in performing a religious ceremony. I
