Guest guest
Pranams to All I am attaching a festival list for 2006 and 2007 and this file is compatible with Outlook and in turn with your pda or any Pocket PC working on Windows Mobile Operating System. The file name is Hindu Festivals 2006.hol and Hindu Festivals 2007.hol. These files can be edited using notepad and you can add your own family functions like srardham, birthdays etc. Right click on the file name (after saving it in your desktop), and click on open with. Use open with notepad. Use the same format when you want to add any functions of yours but date order can be anything, means you can add to the last line using your notepad. Like if you add your birthday, yourname,yyyy/mm/dd. Do not use commas or strokes in any other place, like in between festival name e,g Vinayaga/Ganesh Chaturthi or VInayaga,Ganesh Chathurthi. The "/" and "," are reserved for particular use only. After adding up, save the file. Double click the file and you can see a window with a check box "Hindu Religious Holidays". Check that box and click OK. If you happen to click many times, then the holiday will be repeated in your calendar. These days will be added up in your calendar and next time when synchronise your PDA, you can see all these days in your PDA and you can plan your functions accordingly. The list is not complete as I took few holidays from the internet. May I request the members to give some more input to this exercise by adding amavasya, pradoshams, poornimas, eclipses etc for the period Aug 2006 to Dec 2007. With Regards Ram S Iyer, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia The attachments are safe and virus free and are simple text files. Use notepad to see the contents. Guest guest
Namaskarams, We need to thank Ram S Iyer for his greatest service to the group by sending the list of festivals that is even compatible with Windows Mobile and Pocket PC Unfortunately, for rs opted for Web Only or Digest Mode, the attachments don't come through. Ram Iyer: Can you have those files archived to Vaideekam storage or other webserver and pass on the link to Vaideekam ? Thanks and Regards, Deepak Vasudevan
