Guest guest
SrI: Dear Sri Ranganathan : I have written a summary of the meanings of the Manthrams for the different sections of the Vedic VivAham few years ago .You can access it at : http://www.ramanuja.org/sv/rituals section . I did not include the actual Veda Mantrams , which are mainly from the tenth KaanDam of Rg Vedam . You can also see additional Background information at http://www.ahobilam.com on Vaidhika karmaas . V.Sadagopan *** I appriciate the intention to know the meaning of (Marriage) manthras of this gentleman. But, the reason what he had stated can not be agreed 100%. Because, here another main quality " Maha Viswasam " is failing. The term manthram means : 'Ashat Karna:' - means not to be known by sixth ear. It should be known only between two x two four ears. Also I had the complete Tamil translation for each and every step, and have a complete description for every event of (some are avoiding the word event for subhams, I don't know why) marriage. Also I have prayogam to perform five day marriage also. But after the completion of the Tamil translation, I feel/felt some inferior while hering it. Also I found it is due to the effect of 'SABHDHAS' in samskrit, which can not be expected in Tamil. What I wish to say is : 'a holy vibration' will be less or nil after knowing the direct verbal meanings of that words. We can compare it with the Tamil Divya Prahanda pasurams. We might have got a form of idea about a paasuram before hering a lecture of a great pandit. We could able to understand how poor we are in understanding the words of an Alwar?! So, it is a person's own willing to decide weather to know the verbal meanings of the manthras or to takein a pandits upanyasam. That's why I had not uploaded the book what I have already. Difference of opinion may be there, but this is my opinion that's all. nvs > namaskaram to all. > > it is wellknown to all that our marriage culture is far superier to > many other culture. in this regard, please let us know that whether > any one has translated the sanskrit marriage mantras translated to > tamil and the full meaning of each marriage ritual. > > Doing the rituals with full knowledge of meaning of slokas will > definitely enhance the inner peace of everyone concerned. > > > adiyen > > ranganathan. > > >
