Is it true that women should not chant the Pranavam

" OM " ?? If so, should we use " UM " instead of " OM " in

all slokas including Vishnu Sahasranamam?

 

Also, how true is it that women shouldn't chant the

Gayatri Mantra?

 

Please clarify.

It is correct using " UM " instead of " OM " . Because Pranavam is the greatest

manthram of all manthrams which should be taken as Upadesam from a guru. Gurus

are having restriction to do upadesam of Pranavam for only qualified persons.

Gayathri also comes under this same issue. I had given enough explanation about

it in my upanyasam which I had sent last week.

 

If accept the rules of sastram and do using the " UM " , you will get some amount

of Palan. Otherwise you will get no palan and you get the dhosham for not

respecting the sastram.
