[Vaideekam] Pongal and ekadashi on same day

Dear Moderator,

 

Namaskarams,

 

I have a doubt. On the Pongal day this year it was Ekadasi and Amavasya. In

one of the mails in Vaideekam I read that Pongal can be prepared on pongal day

and consumed the next day. Does this apply to all in general ? Or is there a

different rule for those who perform tharpanam ?

 

I was told that Tharpanam takes precedence over Ekadasi and those who

performed tharpanam should not fast in the morning. Is this correct ? Please

clarify.
