Guest guest Posted January 14, 2007 Report Share Posted January 14, 2007 Dear vasu mama, Ekadasi and pongal are coming on the same day, (tomorrow..btw I am in california) When a fast and a festival come on the same day, which of these takes precedence. I am confused as to what to do for tomorrow. should I observe fast or feast on sarkarai-pongal I saw similar query posted sometime back,. I searched my mail box, but I could not get the solution. Can vasu mama or somebody else please help me . Sorry for asking at the last minute. I would greatly appreciate any response. anaivarukum bhogi / pongal nal-vazhthukal namaskarams sreeram Adiyen, If possible, can strictly follow the Ekadasi vradham as usual. But, when Pandigai is coming on the day, some will overlook it. So, Vradham can be completed only by keeping it as usual, but Pandigai can be celebrated in otherways also. It can be celebrated like wishing others and getting blessings from elders. The Sugar Pongal can be done on the next day (Tuesday) in addition to all mixed rice and enjoy it.
