Sriman NVS Swamin is requested to correct the statement. Nanndi: It is ritual seeking to please the dEvAs prior to engaging in religious ceremonies. In other words Naandhi is the salutations of a deity / pithrus at the commencement of auspicious occasions like Grhapravesam, Seemantham , Upanayanam , VivAham etc. It is a Pithru PoojA or Vandhanam. Normally one can notice in any auspicious celebration at hourse Dakshinai to 9 srivaishnavites is offered on the term of Nandi. *** Gruha Preethi is not related to Naandhi.
