[Vaideekam] Grahana Tharpanam Sankalpam

Dear Sri Balaji :

 

The grahaNam starts in the NY City area at 5.42 PM ,reaches at

the middle level at 6.20 PM , the full eclipse is over at 6.58 PM

and the Moon leaves the Umbra at 8.11 PM .

 

The TarpaNam and Japam are done during the full eclipse

period and the food is not consumed after Noon .

There is nothing special in procedures for " Chandra Grahana Tharpanam "

it is as same as Amavasai tharpanam, but the sankalpam should be slightly

changed as under.

 

In amavasya tharpanam the sankalpam will be :

" ... Amavasya punya kaale dharsha shradham thila tharpana roopena karishye "

 

In Chandra Grahana Tharpanam :

" ... Somoparaka punyakaale somoparaka chradham thila tharpana roopena karishye "

 

all other things are same.
