Guest guest
Dear Sri Vasu Vadhyar swamin, Thank you for your clarifications. A couple more small questions, relating not only to this but other karmas: > As a brahmin all should know at least some small portions of vedha manthram to chant. So my question in this case is: under " punyaaha japam " you have given manthrams starting with " dadhikraaviNNo... " ending in " sham chatuShpade, om shaantih... " . If we do not know the whole paavaamaana suuktam but we do know " dadhikraaviNNo " etc. from doing our sandhyaavandanam, if there is no swamy available or we cannot find a recording is it acceptable to just chant those manthrams which we have undergone adhyayanam for (e.g. ones which are common to sandhyavandanam as well). In general with other karmas, if there is a long portion of vedam to be recited, but we only know a small part of it, can we just recite the part we know, or is it best not to do the karma with half of the manthrams etc? I am trying to put together an English text version of punyaaham which may be of benefit to the members who do not read Tamil. I have started but having difficulty finishing due to work pressures. After I have completed a draft I will try and send you a copy (I may have incorrectly translated some of the Tamil). I will try and do this for some other karmas as well in future. praNAmams, namO nArAyaNAya Ranjan *** I could not say any positive answer to your questions. Why all these things? I am here to do all these things. Call me through your web cam, I will recite anything for you whenever and whatever you need. Wait upto the end of April 2007. Otherwise, Give me two three days time to record and send you any portion of Vedham (Yajur immediately and Samam will take time) nvs
Guest guest
Dear Srimaan NVS swAmin, Thanks for your message. It is indeed extremely kind of you to be providing the services that you do through this website, as already said by the other members. I hope one day I can start the online-santhai class as well, when I have the facility. Rest assured that when I have webcam facility, I shall be eager to start. Also thanks to members Srimaan Shreyas swAmin and Srimaan Sadagopan swAmin for reproducing the puNyAha sAmans and the enthralling translations. A few years ago I could barely find any information about sAma shAkha on the internet. Thanks yourselves, and to internet tools such as this group, it looks like this is slowly changing and we are able to preserve some information about this relatively rare shaakha. praNAmams to all, namO nArAyaNAya, Ranjan
