Guest guest
Dear Vaasu Vadhyar, Namaskarams. Adiyen would like to know when Srimandham is done and what criteria are used to pick a date. Thanks. Adiyen Sridharan *** Well, It is not Srimantham, It should be read as Seemantham. Seemantham is now performed along with 'Pumsavanam' which a similar karma and which has to be done in the 4th month. The Seemantham can be done either in the sixth month or in the eighth month. Normally the 'Vivaram Arindhavargal' will say Finding muhurham for seemantham is very difficult than any other function. Because the condition to select the Lagnam is like that. It is too difficult while the pumsavanam is combined with seemantham. Now here are the conditions to select the muhurtham for Pumsavanam & Seemantham. Note: If not available to satisfy the conditions for both Pumsavanam and Seemantham, skipping the conditions for Pumsavanam is in practice (not in books). Common for Pumsavanam & Seemantham : Days :- Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday & Sunday Thithis :- All subha thithis in Sukla Paksham is best. (i.e, except Amavasai, Powrnami, Ashtami, Navami & Prathamai) Stars :- Aswini, Rohini, Punarvasu, Poosam, Uthram, Hastham, chithirai, Swathi, Uthradam, Sravanam, Avittam, Uthrattathi & Revathi. 8th Place Sudhdham (without any graham) Lagnam :- for Pumsavanam :- Avoid Midhunam, Kadagam and Kanni for Seemantham :- Avoid Simham & Viruchigam As a special case Tuesday also can be taken for Seemantham. nvs
