Guest guest
Srl; My name is srinivas chakravarthy; This question regarding tarpanam for Grahanam and Amavasya on 19th March ,2007. In my family , I am the eldest son. my father and grand father are not alive. however Paternal grand mother is alive . towards my mother's side my maternal grand father and grand mother are still alive. 1.In this scenario .. to which persons i have to give tarpanam. 2.I would like to have tarpana mantras so that i can perform tarpanam for the elders. I used to perform while looking at the book but i doubt regarding my knowledge of spelling mantras as the book i have in tamil and i dont have exact knowledge of the words. i may pronounce the word differently and word may be different. Kindly guide me. 3.One more doubt is ......If my wife is pregnant can i perform tarpanam...... 4.I am visitng my in laws place where i will not get Pavithram or darbha for the performance. kindly guide me the procedure to be followed in this situation. Adiyen srinivasan 1. You have to do Tharpanam only for your father side (not required to do mother side). 2. Tharpana manthras are available in the internet in audio and text formats. (Go to http://www.ahobilam.com and click the Useful Downloads link) 3. Grahana Tharpanam must be done even a person is in doubt. All other tharpanams should be avoided only on Pirappu and Marana theetu. (*See Note) There is no exemption for any other reason to skip Tharpanam or Chradham. 4. The bugnams and pavithrams can be stored for one or two years. Get two (year) sets from your Vadhyar and keep one set in your inlaws house and one in your own house, and use. *Note :- Some people are avoiding from doing Chradhams and subhams ignorantly / wrongly under standing the sastra and sampradaya. Example:- A lady is having only three days theetu when her father or mother's death. If any function / festival / Chradham occurs on the fourth day, they must do it. Some are not doing, which is wrong. I came to know few avoided doing the Kaaradaiyan nonbu for the death of a person by which they are not getting any theetu. nvs
