Identificaction of SaaLagramams is not easy .

There are books that are referrd to in the above

reference . Better to rely on experts .

 

Yes, SaaLagrAmams are not bought . It is either collected in

person during the trek in Ghantaki river sand beds or rcieved

as DhAnam from some one who has been doing SaaLagraama

AarAdhanam . Sri GanapAdi Vaduvur NarasimhAchAri of

Ahobila Matam ( Senior AarAdhakar ) can help identify

a genuine SaaLagraamam and its Moortham .

 

If you do a Google search , you will find the Nepal Family

in Khaatmandu , which can supply a SaaLagrAmam and

identify it for you for a price to cover expenses in collecting

the SaaLagrAmams from the Kantaki River bed . The politicalm turmoil

in Nepal is making these treks diffciult .

 

SaaLagrAma Moorthams at famous temples are pieces together from

big and small SaalagrmAms and bound together by special Tailams .

The whole mountain of Thirumalai is consdered SaalagrAmam and

that is why in ancient times , no one will wear shoes there and will

go on foot .
