Dear Sri Sridhar ;

To the best of my knowledge , there are no

Vedic References tocelebrating Shashtiyabha

Poorthy . There are Vedic prayers for reaching

100 years .

The 60th anniversary celebrations is

a Vaidhika ceremony to celebrate

the cycle of 60 years in the Tamil

Calendar starting from Prabhava

and ending up with Akshaya and

starting all over again .Veda PaarAyaNam ,

Srimath RaamAyaNa Patanam ,

Udhaga Saanthi japam are carried out

by the Family to have a both a social

and Vaidhika occasion . It is a joyous

thanksgiving celebration for the conferral of

all blessings by the Dhivya Dampathis .

AchArya Vandhanam , AchArya SambhAvanai ,

TadheeyArAdhanam are part of these celebrations .

The 80th anniversary celebrations is

for having been blessed with 1000

chandra darsanams duirng that span of life .

Again , Veda PaarAyaNam , Udhaga Saanthi

Japam are emphasized over an extended period

of time .

For the 60 year Tamil Samvathsaram Calendar ,

please perform a Google search on

Tamil Calendar . This will also give

you the 27 Nakshathrams .
