Dear Swamins

 

I have seen many people growing beard if wife is pregnant . This is usually

done from 7th month onwards. I would like to know is there any customary

tradition involved with it.

It is not customary, it is insisted by sastram,

the husband should not perform shaving or cutting from the date of confirmation

of the pregnancy of his wife. This is called " Garbha Dheekshai " .

 

Pithru / Maathru dheekshai also there, one should keep the dheekshai till the

apthikam of his parents from 10th day.
