Guest guest
In our family if there was any auspicious functions held like grahapravesam /Marriage / child birth / etc., it is our practice to add " sobanakshadhai " (manjal paduthina arisi) in the first tharpanam which comes immediately after the so called auspicious functions. When I enquired the significance of this to my father i was told that it is procces of making know the pithrukkal about the auspicious occasions we have celebrated at our house. I do not know how far it really means... but as a PRACTICE WE ARE FOLLOWING THIS adiyen varadan *** It may not be perfect, because, in every subha karyam itself, we are calling pithrus there itself by doing 'Naandhi' to get their blessings. A small sudhdhi is required to continue the subham after the Naandhi Chradham, for that a small punya japam will be done and prokshanam will be done only for the hands of that couple. nvs
Guest guest
Dear Sri NVS swAmin, Can I clarify a doubt. I heard somewhere that mainly Smaarthas do naandhi before shubhakaaryams. Are Srivaishnavas also actually supposed to do this, but have stopped doing it for some reason? Also is there any website giving the procedure for naandhi? regards and praNAmams, Ranjan *** Smarthas are doing Naandhi in Anna roopam in an elaborated manner, but Sri Vaishnavas are doing it as Hiranya roopam. Some vaishnavas who knows about its significance are still doing it in elaborated manner. I don't have time or necessity to check other websites for any vaideeka contents, because I am having ancient books for all the things, I don't have time to read and reproduce them in our website. But now I started to do that, which will be available shortly in our website. nvs
