Guest guest
Dear Sri Vasu Vadhyar swAmin, You may remember a while ago that I am helping my friend with his pre-wedding ceremony. As part of this ceremony, they do a pooja to earth, take some of the soil and place it in a pot, then put a small post (symbolic of one of the pillars in the marriage mandapa) in that soil. It is called " Mandap Ropan " in gujarati. Do we in the South or other parts of India have any similar tradition or ritual and if so are there standard manthrams used for this? Or can it be done without manthrams and just offering manjaL/kunkumam/puShpam etc. I know that we do a ceremony before building a house, but didn't know if that is the same ceremony as this. Any advice from any learned members appreciated, many thanks regards and praNaamams, Ranjan
