Guest guest
Re: [t'venkatam] Namaskaram - the right way Dasan I am having a doubt . Can any one clarify this point. Whan we should do namaskar once, twice, thrice, four time and multiples of ofur timre.? I n advance thanks Srinivasan *** There is no difference in anushtanams in different situations. some times persons are misunderstanding the instructions of elders / vadhyars. For example : If told " Do Namaskaram once " means what you understand? The once depends for number of count or number of occasion? This is the source of confusion every where to have difference of opinions and different sampradayams. Here once is depends for one occasion and not for one count. There is no room for this type of confusions in 'Rushi's' writings. For example : In every prayogam the will start as " Dhviraachamya " which means do aachamanam twice. In the middles they will write as " Aachamya " which means do achamanam one time. All rushis are in a way 'Avatar' of Bhagavan Sriman Naarayanan and hence there is no ego and no controversy. Even if the have difference of opinion they will mention the other rushi's opinion also in prominent manner as " .... so and so rushi's abhipraayam ... " . But later ego developed simultaneously the controversy also developed. So, always the anushtanam will not change at any place and any situation. Vadakalai vaishnavites should do Namaskaram four times either in subhams or in 'Smasaanam'. Doing namaskaaram two times is a shortcut. Likely other Thenkalai Vaishnavas and Smarthas should do namaskaram one time or three time according to their practice and culture. nvs ***Note:- This message was taken out from a non editable message sent by above the member and attached with the next message. Moderator Dear SrimAn NVS swAmin, I hope you are keeping well. I recently was looking at the procedure you have given for " nootana gruhapravesham " (for new houses). Some of our family friends would like to perform gruhapravesham for an existing house, which they have just purchased and moved into already. Can I ask what the main differences are between the gruhapravesham ceremony for a new house, and for an existing house which has previously been lived in? praNAmams, namO nArAyaNAya, Ranjan *** I am fine Mr.Ranjan, thank you! The first one is called Gruhapravesam, the second one can not be called as Gruhapravesam and not necessary. If they willing to do a homam then they go for a Sri Suktha hoamam combined with vaastu homam if they are (Marandhum puram thozha) Vaishnavite. Otherwise they can do some Ganapathy, Navagraha saanthi homams combined with Vaastu homam. nvs
Guest guest
Dear SrimAn NVS swAmin, Thanks for your reply and for the information. Can I ask a rough idea of how Sri Sukta homam is done, is it simply offering " swaahaa " after each manthram of Shri Suktam? Do you normally include the " padmapriye " section at the end, and which devatas do we do aavaahanam for at the start of the homam? I have now got a webcam facility and would be interested to maybe explore using it to learn some of the simple prayogams. I will try and investigate how this is done, perhaps. regards praNAmams, namO nArAyaNAya Ranjan *** Mr.Ranjan, Can you read Tamil well, then wait for a couple of days and let me give the URL where I give the complete gist of prayogam for doing Sri Suktha homam in the place of Gruhapravesam in a lived house but new for a purchaser. nvs > Dear SrimAn NVS swAmin, > > I hope you are keeping well. Guest guest
Dear Sri NVS swAmin, In answer to your question, yes I can read Tamil, but not very fluently as my parents are from Karnataka (and I am from London)! Also I don't always know how to get the correct pronounciation for the Sanskrit prayoga manthrams when reading in Tamil because of the confusion between 'ka, ga, pa, ba' etc. (Obviously I will try and learn the Veda manthrams from a teacher). Is it possible to upload the manthrams in Devanagari but the instructions to the performer in Tamil (or English?), perhaps this will be too much work? I have a built-in webcam with my new computer which is an Apple MacBook. However I can install Windows XP on the Mac now so can use whichever software is most convenient for the group, if we are able to have a webcam set-up. praNAmams, Ranjan vaideekam , Gregory Jay <gregjay wrote: > > Namaskaram, > > I suggest that you do not use Messenger for any web cam service that you do.
