Adiyen is unable to be present in Chennai when pitha's varushaaptikam is performed by Adiyen's elder brother. What observance should adiyen undertake on the day? Many Thanks. Adiyen Tirupati Kumara Sridharan. *** Generally the term 'Apthikam' is applicable for both the first year shradham and consecutive years shradham. To specify it should be told as : 1. Varushapthikam for the first year shradham 2. Prathyapthikam for second and consecutive year shradhams. If it is Varushapthikam which is done at the end of the first year then you keep fasting, nothing else can be done as you are the younger.
