Rituals: Adapting a female child

Respected NVS Swamin,

Adiyen Kannan from Hyderabad - my first message in the group

 

Accepting a female child as one's daughter and bringing up the child with

affection has come into vogue since long though not provided in our Sastras as

conveyed by Swami NVS.. In this kaliyuga by Paria Azhwar (Sree Vishnuchitta)

bringing Goda Devi, and earlier Sage Kanwa of Sakuntala and king Janaka of

Janaki Devi.

 

I know a friend of mine at Visakhapatnam adopting a girl child because in their

house they were blessed always with sons and never daughters. He has three sons,

but no daughters but fir the adopted daughter. After this adoption my friends

two younger brothers are blessed with girl children.

 

I submit and seek from learned NVS swmin more knowledge on this subject

But I could say; all the example given from puranam

are about Piratti's born as " Ayonijaa "

[not given birth to a human] which will

not be a better comparison that of human.

 

I myself was given to the " Gurukkal " of our village

for a 'Marakkal' of 'Thavudu' and taken back after

they had have a child of their own by returning the

same amount of 'Thavudu'.

 

These are all not enough to decide the sastram,

there should be a clause or sub clause found under

sastram itself or atleast in any of the prayoga sastram.
