Guest guest
Respected moderator, Your Email messages coming from vaideekam of are very useful and i have learnt many rituals and deivika matters which in turn increase of our knowledge ( satgunam). In this connection i have a doubt. I have read somewhere that CHARITY is given highest importance like that of Anustanams / rituals. First of all is it correct. Secondly I want to know whether EYE Donation is permitted as per Sastras. Adiyan CHELLAPPA *** Welcome, I never read as per my knowledge of sastram is permitting the donation of any limb (only) to anybody. Then somebody make take the example from puranams, that kannappa nayanar donated his eye etc. Sastram is very detail and very particular in all matters in all restpect what are one individual can do and not to do. For example, sastram is specifying, how many times you should clean after passing urine etc. So many things are there for example. When we are doing the " Dhahana Kainkaryam " if the body of the demised person is wounded by a knife like weapon then it will be treated as a dhosham and there is a procedure to solve that dhosham. Name " Katva Marana praayaschiththam " . So, removing the eye from the body will cause to that dhosham. This is the direct link with sastram for eye donation, there is no specific verses for refusing or encouraging the eye (limb) donation. nvs
