Guest guest
Dear NVS Swami, Who is a bhoktha in a chradham (pardon my ignorance in Sanskrit). Otherwise AdiyEn am clear from Swami's posting that, a. Head-bath should be taken daily, other than one's extreme personal/physical discomfort (sickness, cold, fever etc) b. No restrictions on oil-bath, other than for a person performing tharpanam. It will be valuable if Swami can detail on SnAnam to include other scenarios (Eg. Bahishtai, Subha/Asubha Asaucham) DanyOsmi *** Bhoktha means the swami who takes the food of a chradham in the place of a " Visvedevar " or in the place of a " Pithru " . When our community people are in villages, in agraharams, there they had have bathing source only in a common pond (Kulam). So, the bahishtai sthree is adviced to not take bath for the four days. And the fourth day they will be poured water in a separate place and then they are allowed to take bath in the pond from the fifth day. Now we are in towns / cities with several bathing sources. So, they can do it as per their convenience. Regarding Vrudhdhi theetu (subha / janana theetu) and in a Kshaya (Asubha / Marana) theetu they can take bath daily, but they could not do the daily anushtanam like perumal thiruvaradhanam. In all theetu sandhyavandhanam should be performed but the count of Gayathri japam is restricted to 10 counts. Participating in any subhams / functions is restricted only for the days of theetu. nvs
