Guest guest
Dear NVS Swami, It is a rare phenomenon that houses lacked wells or bathrooms in the villages, that everyone has to resort to the village tank or temple tank for baths. Even in village homes with wells, AdiyEn have heard Bhahistas strictly told to stay off from bathing for 3 days, and on the 4th day they take two baths (latter being Thaila Snanam) before entering the household and partaking panchakavyam before entering Kitchen/PerumAl Sannidhi. This is still practiced in many Dinacharya homes. In fact some of the houses have 3 wells (one for washing hands/feet, one for kitchen and one for washing clothes/toilet)...and simpler homes have one well close to the kitchen, but they shift out water into containers for front/rear entrance usage. It is for this reason AdiyEn wanted to know the Shastric injunction for Bhahishtas as well as other Asoucham. AdiyEn am aware that Sandhis have to be performed during Asoucham, and ThiruvAradham should be performed with Brihaspathi or some other Swami who does not have Asoucham.
