Guest guest
Respected Swamin, With my humble prostations before you and other learned people forming part of the group, I refer to your reply that Thiruvaradhanam should not be performed during theetu period. My doubt is Thiruvaradhanam being a Nitya Kainkaryam to the Lord of Lords, should it be stopped during that period. Kindly give further clarifications to dispel this adiyen's wrong notions. Best regards B.K.Srinivasa Ragavan *** Thiruvaraadhanam is not a nithya kainkaryam or Aajgna Kainkaryam. The kainkaryams are of two types : 1. Aajgna Kainkaryam 2. Anujgna Kainkaryam The first one is compulsory and if not done, prathivaayam (Papam / dhosham) is given. The second one is to show our interest and willingness to God It can be explained with an example. A child is showing its love to their parents by doing some favours and helps to them. If the child is not doing such pleasing activity the parents will not punish the child. But the parents are expecting some discipline and character from their child, if the child is missing to keep the discipline or character the parent will definitely punish the child, this is also for the sake of that child's future. So, the Aajgna Kainkaryam like sandhyavandhanam, tharpanam, chradham, samskara karmas are coming under the first one which are compulsory. Doing Aaradhanam is not compulsory, but if we are in a good condition taking any kind of food without doing aaradhanam can be considered as " Dhroham " - but in Bhagavath Gita, Bhagavan is mentioning this word as " Mama Dhrohi " against the persons who are not doing their karmas. nvs
