NEW VASTRAM and MILK FOR THIRUMANJANAM

Dear Swamin,

1.Is it necessary to dip NEW VASTRAMS [ 9^5 or10^6 veshtis] in water , dry it

and wear it on all occasions including DEEPAVALI.In temples new VESHTIS are

directly PRESENTED to the LORD and the LORD is seen wearing a new VESHTI [i.e]

without dipping in water and drying

2 I woukd like to know the reason for using only plain MILK[ without boiling].

during THIRUMANJANAM to the LORD including SALIGRAMA ARADHANAM

1. Yes. The Moolavar Thirumeni is different from ordinary human sareeram. That

new veshtis also will be purified with some manthrams and mudhras as per agama

sastra which is not applicable for human.

 

2. I don't know the special reason, while milk without boiling is enough for

thirumanjanam which is for the body, but we are offering the boiled milk with

added sugar as a food.
