Guest guest
Dear Sri Vasu Vadhyar swAmin, I remember sometime back you mentioned that if people want to perform a homam for entering a house which is already built, they can perform Sri Sukta and Vaastu homams. Can I ask what are the names of the basic steps in such a homam? Also a question on another topic: for saama upakarma which is coming up on Thursday, which direction should we sit for doing deva/rushi tarpaNam? I saw in one procedure that tarpaNam should be done facing north (in yajur upakarma) so wanted to check. Many thanks, praNAmams, namo naaraayaNaaya Ranjan *** It is just difference in the Sankalpam as : " Asmin gruhe " instead of " Noothana Gruhe " instead of " Noothana Gruhapravesam Karishye " say " Vaastu shaanthiyartham Ashtalakshmi nivasa sidhyartham Yatha shakthi Purusha sooktha homa, Sri sooktha homa, Vaastu homani cha karishye " Avoid " Yath bhoomehe " manthram only and start from " Brahmachathe " then to the end. In the Noothana gruhapravesam aajyam (ghee) is the only homa dhyravyam used, but in the old house we can use 'samidh', 'Annanm', 'Aajyam' all in the place of 'Samidh' we can use the lotus flowers, 'Bilva' leaves and or fruits. In the place of annam we can use either 'Kesari' or 'Chakra pongal'. *** About Sama Upakarma, Sitting direction is always towards east, but the tip of the 'Erukku leaf's' tip (nuni) of the 'dharbhams' should be turned to North while doing Rushi tharpanam and it should be in East while doing Deva Tharpanam. nvs
Guest guest
Dear Vasu Vadhyar swamin, Thank you for your help and for the information on upakarma tarpaNam. About the homam, there are some terms in your " Gruhapravesham " pdf document which I am not familiar with (I know very little about vaideekam). Can I ask clarification for what each of these steps/terms mean? Anugnyai paristaraNam paatra saadana darbham praNeeti Aajya bhaagam swishTakruth homam Jayaadi homam Praneeth Mokshanam Brahma Udhvaasanam (is this where we do what is usually called 'poorNaahuti'?) I understand this is a fairly long list which you may not have time to answer in full. In that case, I would be grateful for clarification from any of the other learned members in the group also. regards, praNaamams, Ranjan *** These can not be given in group as you have asked. It should be taught by a Vadhyar as sandhai. The given steps are useful for a fair vadhyar who already know about vaideekam. Still I am ready to start the vaideekam class if I could get a considerable number of students in a particular time. i.e, 45 minutes per day, minimum 12 days per two weeks all the students must attend the (online) class. If you are ready, I am also ready to start it at once. nvs
