Guest guest
SrI: Sri NVS swamin, dasoham. 1. Mahalaya paksham tarpaNam is to be postponed to the next krishna paksham if thiruvidyanam (aptikam) of father/mother falls within mahalaya paksham. 2. How can we identify days of Vvadheepaatham, Gajachaya.? Is there any tithi to identify them? 3. If someone performs mahalaya paksham sraddham/tarpaNam on every day of the mahalaya paksham, then these specific days (friday, birthday etc) cannot be followed in observing mahalaya tarpanam/sraddham. I believe these rules of avoiding specific days are not applicable to those who performs every day. *** 1. Agreed. (Some times it will go up to Iypasi first week). 2. They are clearly mentioned in the Panjagams in the special column. Later I post the correct Kaala Nirnaya conditions for them. Any how it required panjangam again. 3. Yes, when doing tharpanam through out the paksham, not necessary to see anything. Additional info: Vaishnavites accustom to perform the Mahalayam as " Sakrun Mahalayam " which means performing it in one time only for the whole paksham. Few are doing the tharpanam in the starting of the paksham and then leaving the vradham from that day itself to take annam in the nights. Though we are performing the 'Sakrun Mahalayam' we should keep vradham through out the paksham. This is my opinion, there may be chance to have difference of opinion. Once a Vaishnavite lady asked me as follows: " Mama enniyilerundhu ennikku varaikkum Venkayamellam Saapidakkudaadhu " I shocked and asked " Appadinna? " she continued : " Athaan mama, indha maalyam (she pronounced like that) maalayam innu solluvaale adhu " then I told the period and informed. Vaishnavas should not take Onion like vegetables ever. nvs
